Lard Black Display Font

Lard Black is a high contrast Roman display type created in 2020 as coursework for the Type Design Principles public program at Type@Cooper (Cooper Union, NYC). In addition to the expected upper and lower cases, figures, ligatures, punctuation and symbols, Lard Black includes a variety of symbols and icons which can be tiled to create patterns.
The font was inspired by Cooper Black Swash and Benguiat Caslon, and the overall jaunty vibe of 70s design. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Lard looks best at sizes above 36pts.
